Garment Sizing
SixSummit® Sizing
Our Prologue Collection is compiled from offerings from various manfacturers. This allows us to start with lower quantities and assess where the demands are. It is also useful to have these options for limited editions in the future, like a Christmas design for example, or for a specific sporting event.
As a consequence the Prologue Collection uses the S/M/L size format, but for various reasons they aren’t synchronised, and each garment has detailed size information. We don’t use the complete size ranges available either, becuase sometimes there is insufficient length in the smaller sizes.
When we are able to develop bespoke garments we will be able to use a unique size range, similar to buying jeans, where you work out your optimum height and width. This is how we do it with Tall and Chain, and we are always being asked to expand the ranges out. Watch this space!
However for the Prologue Collection, just follow the detailed size information for each garment. If you think we can improve or change any sizing information to help other customers, please let us know.
Garment Care
Looking after your SixSummit® Clothing...
With any brand of clothing, care is required to prolong its life. There is a lot of information and tips available all over internet, and if you can make your clothing last longer, then your wallet and the planet will both be thankful.
Being taller means preventing your clothes from shrinking is extra important. A 100% cotton t-shirt can shrink and lose about 4cm in length if not cared for properly, and also can lose its shape. Luckily most of our options contain polyester or elastane which are more resistant to shrinkage, and our elastane garments are really good at holding their shape.
To simplify a lot of daunting advice that the internet has to offer, here are the 3 things to consider when it comes to caring for your SixSummit clothes. If you are lucky enough to have someone do your washing for you, then make sure they are aware of these important points.
Wash cool
Although our manufacturers recommend washing at 40c, 30c is sufficient to clean clothing subject to normal conditions. It is better to use a stain remover pre-wash if required, rather than trying to wash at higher temperatures.
Avoid the tumble dryer
Some tumble dryers have sportswear settings, and condensing tumble driers operate at lower temperatures, which is important. However, preference has to be to hang clothes up to air dry instead, when it is possible to do so.
Iron?
Although ironing at low temperatures is fine according to the manufacturers, we have found that our garments that contain polyester or elastane don't really need ironing. The 100% cotton garments can be ironed at a medium heat (150c) but whatever you choose to iron, always avoid the printed areas!
